The Multi Client is a derivative of our Silent Server product. We have managed to reduce the footprint even more, which makes it ideal for using as a thin client or workstation. The Multi Client is a fanless unit and uses Mini-ITX boards. This makes the product noise-free and energy efficient.
The Multi Client should be primary used as a diskless workstation in a client-server environment. This means that if your organization has many users, you can provide them with cost-effective workstations, with all the applications and data stored in a central server. Instead of giving each user a stand alone PC, they can be given identical terminals. This makes deployment, expansion, operation, maintenance and backup both easier and cheaper.
Available Options:
Option 1 - Diskless Client: 667 MHZ processor, 128 MB DDR RAM. Uses the VIA M6000 motherboard. This unit is requires a server that support PXE networking booting. This unit does not come with a disk drive.
Option 2 - Silent PC: As above, but with a 20 GB hard drive. This unit can function as a stand alone unit like a regular PC, and does not require a server for operations.
Option 3 - PC: As above, with a CDROM drive. You may opt for a DVD/CDRW combo drive.
Option 4 - Thin Client: 533 MHZ processor, 128 MB RAM. Uses the VIA V 500 motherboard. Supports XDMCP (XWindows) and RDP 4.0 (WinTerminal). Works with Microsoft Windows 2000 Advance Server, Microsoft XP (single user) etc. This unit has a 32 MB Solid State Disk drive with all the software necessary for turning it into a terminal (a server is required). This unit can also be upgraded to RDP 5.2 which adds local sound and true color for WinTerminal functions.
Software:
We can pre-install the unit with GNU/Linux or Windows, as per your requirement.
The Multi Client features the mini-ITX form factor specified by VIA. miniITX is an ultra small compact design that fits all the features of a motherboard onto a small 17cm x 17 cm PCB. The Panda features the VIA M6000 or the V500 motherboards, with processors running at 677 MHz or 500 MHz respectively. Despite it's small size, the miniITX is fully featured. Not only does the motherboard have video out, it also can be configured with a digital out so that you can send the output to a receiver or video processor.
